Sid Alvarado is the Principal Consultant at Emerging Financial Concepts, where she leads a portfolio of projects in the community development and affordable housing sector.
Sid’s work began in the housing counseling industry over 18 years ago, providing direct counseling services and teaching homebuyer education courses.
Early on, Sid found that besides helping families meet their financial goals, she also enjoyed translating program policy and guidelines. This led to her developing and teaching engaging courses on service delivery and program administration with two HUD-funded national training partners, NCRC and UnidosUS (formerly National Council of La Raza), where she continues to teach.
During her career, Sid has led the development of several resources, webinars, guides, and toolkits, which have gained a national platform and have aided in helping housing counselors and agencies efficiently serve their communities. As a lead consultant, Sid has managed projects as a technical assistance provider to HUD’s Office of Housing Counseling. In addition, her work on teaching and learning has also been recognized and published in scholarly journals.
In her previous role, Sid was the Director of Income and Asset Building at Commonwealth Catholic Charities, overseeing housing, financial capability, asset building, entrepreneurship, and workforce
development programs. One of the highlights of her time at the agency is when she led efforts in the
agency being recognized as the housing counseling agency of the year.
Sid holds a Master of Education degree from Liberty University and a Certificate in Non-profit Management. She is also a HUD Certified Housing Counselor and an Accredited Financial Counselor.
When not immersed in her work, Sid enjoys engaging in culturally focused travel, exploring nature, hiking, and creating wonderful memories with her family.

Ami Pascual is a writer and city planner based in the San Gabriel Valley. Prior to moving to Southern California, she worked for 17 years in the South of Market and Mission Bay neighborhoods in San Francisco. She was the Founding Executive Director of SoMa Foundation, an economic development corporation providing working capital loans while operating a social enterprise and workforce development venture, SoMa Steam Clean, for homeless youth and adults. Between 2001-2004, she was a Management Services Officer III for UCSF’s School of Medicine where she oversaw intramural and extramural funding, capital projects and a major move of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology’s laboratories and offices from the Parnassus to Mission Bay campus.
Ami was also a consultant to social and environmental justice nonprofits in Los Angeles and San Francisco, raising over $4.7 million for programs, creating strategic plans and “how-to” manuals on topics such as grant proposal writing, leadership development and community-based research.
She earned a Masters in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in English and American Literature from UCLA. For over 30 years Robbie served in a volunteer position for Nafe (National Association for Female Executives), which is headquartered in New York City as their Global Coordinator, In this capacity she interacted with the women of all their Nafe affiliate networks across the country. After Covid Nafe decided they no longer were having networks, so Robbie added networks to her non-profit GSFE which she launched in 2017 and GSFE now has networks not only in the US but internationally as well.
As a certified speaker, she has spoken over 30 years for many corporations and organizations on a variety of topics. In 2019 she did a SUE TALK in Orange County, CA to over 300 women. SUE TALK is like a TED TALK but mostly for women. Her recent 2022 talks were with the Corona Chamber Women’s Conference, where she spoke on ACHIEVE, which gave her the idea to do her latest book. She also spoke for the Hemet/San Jacinto CA Women’s Conference; her topic was SUCCESS.
Prior to being an Entrepreneur, Robbie spent 25 years in the corporate world with her last 15 years being in high-level positions.
